There is often an activity director on site who provides a calendar of events for the residents to keep them involved daily. Housekeeping may also be available in certain communities. Independent residents live in an environment where they can maintain their independence and enjoy the luxuries of chef-prepared meals. There is entertainment, social activities with other residents, fitness activities, transportation to events and much more!

Many of these communities can accommodate couples, as well as care for people with higher needs of care.

While born in Minnesota, Michelle spent many of her growing up years in Pleasanton. She moved after her third year at Amador, and lived across the country for many years. However, she finally found her way back to Pleasanton where she ended up marrying the boy from down the street. They have a blended family that consists of six children, one in heaven, as well as two married with children. She and her husband Michael also have 6 grandchildren. Michelle is proud to have her son-in-law currently serving in the US Navy, and her son and daughter both veterans of the US Army and US Navy.
Michelle founded Designed For Seniors in 2024 with the goal of providing exceptional senior citizen services to her local Tri Valley community. She became involved in the senior community in 2015. Her journey into placement services was born out of empathy for those caring for their parents. She faced a similar experience with first her Mom and then her Dad. Michelle understands first hand the need for support during such an important time in a person’s life. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She loves to spend time with her husband going to the mountains, the beach, gravel bike riding, traveling, and just being outdoors.
Michelle resides in Pleasanton, Ca and is a member of her local Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, 2024 Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year, Toastmasters, Pleasanton Chamber Ambassador Committee, and The National Placement & Referral Alliance (NPRA) and has completed her RCFE certification.
